Yesterday was extremely unproductive, yet quite fun. I spent most of it playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. My only comment on the Hot Coffee controversy: It's a typical statement of the American culture mind that explicit portrayals of (consensual, no less!) sexual intercourse considered more reprehensible than explicit portrayals of murderous, casual violence. "It's for the children!" (and the careers of those politicians expressing their shock and approbation on the matter.) Bah. (Baaa. Baaa.)
Question for those that know me in person: Should I let my inner ranter loose on this LJ?
Other activities included eating and folding laundry.
dlowewin, OTOH, got called into work to finish up a report that absolutely, positively, had to be done by today. Bleah.
I had an interesting conversation with Jay today over coffee, concerning theatre, memetics, magic, religion, and history. If anyone's got good resources on the above topics and their intersections (esp. Hermeticism and connections to medieval religious theatre and alchemy), post 'em in the comments.
Now reading:
The Canterbury Tales,
The Imaginative Argument, and
Shadowplay.
princeofcairo should probably check that last one out.
